PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system which outputs an image by switching between normal white light images and specific wavelength band light images. SOLUTION: The endoscope system comprises: a light source section having a first light emitting section that emits red light of a first wavelength band, a second light emitting section that emits green light of a second wavelength band and a third light emitting section that emits blue light of a third wavelength band; a light receiving section that receives light of a subject based on the light from the light source section while separating the light into each wavelength band; a signal processing section that acquires an R signal including the light of the first wavelength band, a G signal including the light of the second wavelength band, a B signal including the light of the third wavelength band on the basis of the light separated at the light receiving section; a video signal generating section that generates a video signal on the basis of the B signal or the like acquired at the signal processing section; and a switching section that switches between a first status outputting the R, G and B signals to the video signal generating section and a second status outputting the G and B signals to the video signal generating section.
