The invention relates to a material particularly adapted for the extraction of metal cations in an aqueous medium, that comprises a solid substrate on which are bonded polyazacycloalkane compounds having a cycle including at least 4 nitrogen atoms and in which the nitrogen atoms of the cycle are substituted by coordinating groups each independently consisting of a coordinating group of the formula -(CH2)n-C(=O)-NR1 R2 or of a coordinating and binding group of the formula -(CH2)P-C(=O)-NR3-(A)-[substrate]. The invention also relates to a method for producing the above materials and to the different uses thereof, in particular for extracting Pb2+ cations in an aqueous medium.
