The invention relates to a brewing device (1) for a coffee maker comprising a brewing cylinder (6) having a cylindrical bore and two pistons (3 and 4) by means of which the brewing cylinder can be closed for the purpose of forming a brewing chamber. The brewing cylinder (6) and the pistons (3 and 4) are held in a frame (2) so as to be displaceable relative to each other and can be driven via a drive unit (9, 10). Before the brewing operation, coffee powder is filled into the brewing chamber; said coffee powder is ejected from the brewing chamber as a coffee powder cake (17) after the brewing operation and can be sloughed off into a collection container (20) via a sloughing-off element (18). Between the sloughing-off element (18) and the collection container (20), a partial element (22) is disposed that separates the coffee powder cake (17) sloughed off by the sloughing-off element (18) into pieces (17', 17'') before said coffee powder cake reaches the collection container (20). In this manner the coffee powder cakes can be temporarily stored in the container (20) in a space-saving manner. |
