PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

The uneven display on the display plane of PDP is suppressed by suppressing a relative variation in tilting angle among crystal columns of a protection film. A plasma display has such a structure that a discharge space is formed between a pair of substrates arranged face to face and an MgO protection film is formed by a vapor deposition method on the surface of one of the substrates which is on the side in contact with the discharge space. The crystal columns of the protection film have a constant angle formed between the thickness direction and the tilting angle of the columns. The plasma display panel is so structured that the variation of the column tilting angles in the display plane of the panel may be within a range of ± 1.5° at which the chromaticity difference of the entire display plane when the panel is lighted up is 0.007 or less.
