<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device capable of improving detection precision of a light sensor, and carrying out driving control of a light source with high precision even when the number of installation of the light sensor is reduced, and a display device using the same. <P>SOLUTION: In the lighting device with a plurality of LEDs (light sources), the light sensor which is installed at respective prescribed numbers of the LEDs, and outputs a detection signal by detecting light from prescribed numbers of the respective LEDs. Moreover, a detection period for detecting light from the prescribed number of the respective LEDs by the light sensor is set, and during this detection period, in response to respective distances of the light sensor and the prescribed numbers of the LEDs, electric power supply to the corresponding LED is changed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
