PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous lubricant for plastic working of a metal, can form a film having excellent lubricant characteristics by only being coated, produceable at a low installation cost and running cost, hardly causing waste and hardly leaving scum on a mold. SOLUTION: The aqueous lubricant for the plastic working of the metal contains 30-50 wt.% metal phosphate, 10-30 wt.% metal salt of an unsaturated fatty acid, 5-40 wt.% 2-thiobenzothiazole compound and 1-10 wt.% surfactant, and is substantially free from a metal salt of a saturated fatty acid.
