PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder which prevents a waste liquid from flowing out of a waste liquid tank, before an amount of waste liquid stored in the waste liquid tank reaches the capacity of the tank. SOLUTION: The image recorder is provided with: an idle discharge receiving section 17 for receiving an idle discharge from an ink discharge head 7; and a waste liquid tank 13 which is positioned below the idle discharge receiving section 17 and stores waste ink (waste liquid). The idle discharge receiving section 17 has: a roller 15 (rotating body) which is freely movably pivoted and receives idle-discharged waste ink with its peripheral surface, while rotating; and a blade 21 (scraping member) for scraping waste ink attached to the peripheral surface of the roller 15. The blade 21 scrapes the waste ink by abutting on or facing the peripheral surface of the roller 15, and is freely movable in the direction of periphery of the roller 15.
