PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke detector for accurately detecting not only smoke circulating at a high speed but also smoke circulating at a low speed. SOLUTION: A smoke sensor equipped with a casing having an inflow port to which smoke inflows at a peripheral side face section for issuing an alarm based on a signal to be output form a sensor which has sensed smoke includes: a dam section installed inside the casing; a circulation face on which smoke which has inflowed across the dam section circulates; and a cylindrical section installed at a section of the circulation face to which smoke which has circulated on the circulation face inflows in which the rays of light to be emitted from a light emitting element can be received by a light receiving element.
