PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately verify and analyze the shock resistance of a testing object component regardless of the magnitude of the weight of an apparatus or the testing object component. SOLUTION: This method of applying a drop test to a battery unit B in a mounted state to a notebook personal computer comprises applying a tool 70 where the moment of inertia about the axis passing the center of gravity when the battery unit B is mounted is the same as that of the notebook personal computer mounted with the battery unit B, supporting the tool 70 rotatably about the axis passing the center of gravity when the tool 70 mounted with the battery unit B, and dropping a slide plate 40 having the same mass as that of the notebook personal computer mounted with the battery unit B in a state where the tool 70 is stopped at an optional attitude from a predetermined height position to the battery unit B of the tool 70.
