PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reverse input preventing clutch which is operated with low operation torque and is stable in clutch operation. SOLUTION: A sliding spring 14 rotating integrally with a retainer 13 elastically connected to an outer ring 2 on the input side and sliding with a housing 7, is formed of a wire rod, and thereby the operation torque is reduced by reducing its sliding resistance. The movement in the axial direction of the sliding spring 14 is regulated by an annular projection part 7c and a cover part 7b formed on both sides of a contact part with the sliding spring 14 of the housing 7, and the sliding spring 14 is made hard to incline, and stable clutch operation is provided. The outer ring 2 is also formed of sintered oil-containing metal, and oil oozing out of the outer ring 2 is used as a lubricant, and rotational resistance between the retainer 13 and the outer ring 2 is reduced by the lubricant, and sliding torque of the sliding spring 14 is set small in response to this rotational resistance reduction, and the operation torque can be further reduced.
