<p>A roll for glass conveyance which comprises a roll base and, superposed on the surface thereof, a primer layer and a ceramic spray deposit and in which particle shedding from the ceramic spray deposit is inhibited. The roll for glass conveyance comprises a roll base, a first spray deposit formed on the surface of the roll base and constituted of a cermet or metal, and a second spray deposit formed on the first spray deposit and constituted of a ceramic. The second spray deposit has undergone pore-filling treatment with a silica precursor solution.</p>
