The unit has a shutdown mat (10) made of silicon, comprising a resilient, electrically insulating material i.e. lacquer, and lying on a side of a mounting plate (20). The mat is provided with a projection (14), which is accommodated by a control key and attached to the key. A region of a projection of the mat is formed as a capacitively acting electrode (32), and an electrical feed pipe is hold by the mat, and is guided into the electrode. The pipe is electrically connected with a contact field (42) of the plate. The mat is used as a carrier for a hardware of a capacitive proximity sensor.
