The method involves supporting axially adjustable rotation in a testing device, and measuring the size during the rotation of a component around its longitudinal axis (3), where the size is correlated with an axial drift of the component. Force is generated in dependence of the size, where the force works against the axial drift. An independent claim is included for a device for non-destructive testing of a rotationally symmetrical component.
