PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a locking release mechanism of a latch in a latch lock capable of being operated by operating a small operation member and locking the small operation member at a predetermined position. SOLUTION: This locking release mechanism of the latch in the latch lock includes a lock box stored in a cavity part of a door as fittings and provided with the latch protruding from a front plate and an operation lever member constituting the locking release mechanism for the latch, a seat plate fixed on a wall surface of the door through a fixing means, and an insertion driving piece of an operation member provided on the seat plate and extended into the lock box through a through window formed in the lock box to press the operation lever member. The operation member is smaller than the seat plate and is a knob plate provided slidably on the seat plate. The insertion driving piece has a mounting base provided or molded integrally on a back side of the knob plate. A back board is provided and fixed on a rear surface of the seat plate 7, and a locking means for the operation member is incorporated in the back board and the operation member.
