PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a tool for measuring a chain tension of a passenger conveyor capable of retaining the position of a chain upon swing of the chain to one side in a direction orthogonal to an extension direction as a reference position for measuring slack of the chain. SOLUTION: This tool 30 for measuring the chain tension is provided with a fixed member 31 with a flat attachment surface on one surface, and a reference position indicating member 32 extended in a direction orthogonal to one surface of the fixed member 31 from the other surface thereof. The fixed member 31 is formed only of a magnet section made by shaping a permanent magnet into a disc shape. The reference position indicating member 32 is made by bending a rectangle flat metal plate into an L shape, and the base section 32a thereof is fastened and fixed in the other surface of the fixed member 31 by a screw 33. Moreover, the L-shaped bent piece 32b is extended from the other surface of the fixed member 31 in the direction orthogonal to one surface of the fixed member 31. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
