PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device of manufacturing a pin of a power transmission chain, which enhances the flexibility of the shape of a pin end face, and to provide a method of manufacturing the pin of the power transmission chain. SOLUTION: A grinding device 35 is formed of a tool holder 37 and a workpiece holder 38. The tool holder 37 has a central axis εt, and holds a grinding member 36 for grinding a pair of end faces 34 of a pin manufacturing intermediate body 33. The workpiece holder 38 holds the manufacturing intermediate body 33 while aligning a longitudinal direction of the manufacturing intermediate body 33 with the central axis εt of the tool holder 38. Thus by rotating the workpiece holder 38 and the tool holder 37 about the central axis εt of the tool holder 37, the pairing end faces 34 of the manufacturing intermediate body 33 are ground.
