A mounting device is provided with a mounted-state notifying section, and the mounting device is mounted to a liquid ejecting device when a liquid contained in a liquid container is supplied to the liquid ejecting device via a tube connected to the liquid container. The mounted-state notifying section can, in a mounted state in which the mounting device is mounted to the liquid ejecting device, cause the liquid ejecting device to recognize the mounted state and can, in the mounted state, cause the liquid ejecting device to recognize a not-mounted state in which the mounting device is not mounted to the liquid ejecting device.
