An apparatus and a method for enquiring information on the channel condition of a cognitive radio based wireless communication system are provided to recognize the changes in channel states accurately by allowing a DB server to inform the time for inquiring the channel state information again. The base station transmits an inquiry message to the DB server(205), and confirms whether or not the response message to the inquiry is received from the DB server(207).
