PROCESS FOR PREPARING RACEMIC OR OPTICALLY PURE (S)-OXIRACETAM

A novel method for manufacturing racemic or optically pure (S)-oxiracetam is provided to produce a target compound with high purity and yield and develop therapeutic agent for cerebrovascular disease and brain injury. A method for manufacturing racemic of the chemical formula 5 or optically pure (S)-oxiracetam or its derivative comprises: a first step of performing amination of glycine derivative with a compound of the chemical formula 3 to produce an amine compound of the chemical formula 4; and a second step of cyclizing the amine compound under the presence of organic solvent and acid catalyst.
