PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the function of deforming a backrest surface by an easily constructible structure. SOLUTION: The chair is structured by supporting a deformable backrest member 6 forming a backrest surface on a support 3 to set: an intermediate area C in which a support 3 is arranged behind; a left area L ranging to the left of the intermediate area C and deformable forward and backward without interfering with the support 3; and a right area R ranging to the right of the intermediate area C and deformable forward and backward without interfering with the support 3 in the upper region of the backrest member 6.
