摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively increase torque by appropriately utilizing an exhaust blow down effect when a request for increasing the torque is issued, in an internal combustion engine provided with a variable valve train capable of changing a valve overlap period and a variable nozzle type turbo supercharger, about a control device of the internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: In the case that the request for increasing the torque is issued, firstly, a variable nozzle 22c is controlled to be fully closed without providing the valve overlap period. Then, in the case of determining that the torque is risen to close to a maximum torque curve (near a triangle mark) which can be output while the valve overlap period is not provided, a variable nozzle aperture is gradually opened to an aperture for an optimum turbo efficiency and the valve overlap period is gradually extended to obtain the exhaust blow down effect.
