PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight railroad sleeper which can be manufactured at low cost, and which has functions such as high vibration-control and sound insulation. SOLUTION: The undersurface constitution part, the side constitution part, and the butt-end surface constitution part are formed by fiber-reinforced resin. A rail supporting part is formed of a resin molded body in a state where it is in contact with the undersurface constitution part and the side constitution part, and the rail supporting part receives the bearing surface of a rail, and fixes the fastening jig of the rail. Then a concavity for filling is formed in the part other than the resin molded body, and at least the upper section side of the sleeper is opened. A plurality of solid matters, resin compositions in gel form, fiber sheets for sound absorption or the like are filled in the concavity for filling. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
