PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waveguide type line that is achieved with a simpler arrangement and which is a waveguide type right-hand system line, a waveguide type left-hand system line, or a waveguide type right-hand/left-hand system complex line, and a leak wave antenna using the waveguide type line. SOLUTION: The waveguide type line 10 has a first waveguide 1 formed by a wide wall surface 1a and a narrow wall surface 1b, and a periodical structure 2 provided on the wide wall surface of the first waveguide and in which a groove 3 with a groove of a depth d formed in a direction perpendicular to the wide wall surface is formed at predetermined intervals along a tube axis direction x, wherein the groove is formed so that a longitudinal center line C of a groove cross-section surface opening parallel to the wide wall surface may tilt with a predetermined angleϕto a direction y perpendicular to the tube axis direction x of the first waveguide in a surface parallel to the wide wall surface.
