REMOTE CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control system which can remotely control a device equipped with a short-distance wireless communication means for each device by using a portable terminal having a data communication function and a short-distance wireless communication function as a remote controller, and to provide a remote control method. SOLUTION: Control information for remotely controlling the device 1 provided with a short-distance wireless communication means 40 for each device 1 is associated with attribute information of the device 1 and stored in a control information storing means 2a provided in the server 2. The portable terminal 3 performs data communication with the server 2 and acquires the control information from the control information storing means 2a on the basis of the attribute information of the device 1 acquired by the portable terminal 3. The portable terminal 3 generates a remote control signal for remotely controlling the device 1 on the basis of the acquired control information.
