PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for treating mitral valve insufficiency, especially the expansion of a mitral valve annulus. SOLUTION: The treatment device of mitral valve annulus expansion has the following features. An extension body (8) which has two states is included. In a first state, the extension body (8) can be inserted into a coronary sinus (5) and has a shape which can fit the shape of the coronary sinus (5). The extension body (8) moves to a second state and can become a small curvature radius when it is placed in the coronary sinus (5). In this way, the curvature radius of the coronary sinus (5) and the curvature radius and boundary length of a mitral valve annulus (6) are reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
