PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article with pocket which prevents the leakage of excretory matter from the waist part of a wearing person and is preferably used without becoming bulky in his/her lower back part. SOLUTION: A tape type disposable diaper 1 includes a pair of stereoscopic gathers 26a, 26b along both side parts. One or more elastic members (stereoscopic gather elastic members 36) are arranged in the free end parts 26j of the stereoscopic gathers 26a, 26b. A back side pocket 50 to be opened toward the front surface side center of the absorbent article is formed along a back side part end on the back side of the diaper. One or more elastic members (pocket elastic members 51) are arranged in the free end part 50j of the back side pocket 50. At least the elastic members of the free end parts 26j of the stereoscopic gathers 26 or the elastic members of the free end part 50j of the back side pocket 50 are/is arranged or not arranged in a non-extension state in an area where the stereoscopic gathers 26 are superimposed on the back side pocket 50.
