PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely identify illumination of an illuminating body of a hall lantern device even when illuminance in an elevator landing varies. SOLUTION: The hall lantern device for the elevator is provided with a plurality of light sources 10 enabling selective lighting; the translucent illuminating body 12 for irradiating light emitted from the light sources 10 toward the elevator landing; a sensor 13 for detecting illuminance of the elevator landing; and a selection part 15 for selecting the light sources 10 to be lit in accordance with the detection result of the sensor 13.
