PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an outside diameter piloting apparatus and an outside diameter piloting method for concentrically aligning a disk rotor to a wheel hub. SOLUTION: The pitch circle diameter of an annular piloting means is greater than the pitch circle diameter of rotor mounting fasteners and wheel studs of the hub. The outside diameter piloting means allows a hub section profile which inclinedly extends smoothly and continuously between the inboard side of the wheel hub up to mounting fastener apertures. The smooth and continuous inclined profile reduces the stress of the wheel hub and increases its fatigue life. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
