PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular suspension system having high practicability. SOLUTION: In the suspension system, a hydraulic absorber which generates the damping force to the advancing/retracting operation of a sprung part to/from an unsprung part, and changes the damping coefficient as the reference of the magnitude of the damping force in a controllable manner, and an electromagnetic actuator which generates the actuator force in a controllable manner are arranged parallel to each other. The damping coefficient C<SB>A</SB>of the absorber is set to be the first damping coefficient C<SB>HMAX</SB>when the actuator force F<SP>*</SP>forms the resistance against the advancing/retracting operation of the sprung part to/from the unsprung part (S15), or set to be the second damping coefficient C<SB>LMAX</SB>smaller than the first damping coefficient when the actuator force forms the propulsive force (S14). According to the system, the damping coefficient of the absorber is changed between when the damping force generated by the absorber assists the actuator force and when the damping force impairs the actuator force, and the actuator and the absorber can be adequately cooperated with each other.
