Device for acquiring images of a print by means of a user's finger, comprising: a framework affording a passage for the finger moving in an acquisition plane, a facility for projecting a luminous test pattern, a colour sensor having a rate of acquisition sufficient to sense an image of the moving finger, a processing unit devised for extracting from the colour image signal a monochrome image in each of the projected colours, reconstructing a texture of the finger on the basis of at least one of the monochrome images and a form on the basis of at least one of the monochrome images.
