The system has pick-ups (1, 2), and an electromagnetic actuator (5) that is arranged in variable distance to an electrically strengthened stringed instrument such that a player stimulates different harmonics by positioning the instrument to the actuator. A light element (7) is controlled depending on a control signal of the actuator. Signal strength and/or a phase and/or a frequency response and/or an actuator signal pattern are formed from the control signal of the actuator for controlling the light element. The light element is attached to the actuator such that light irradiates on a string.
