A data image compensating method and a recording medium reproducing apparatus are provided to correct position by comparing a reference mark in the currently reproduced page with a standard deviation and to resolve a burst error generated in a complex data image. A data image compensating method is as follows. The location of a specified reference mark in a reproduced data page is calculated. The calculated location is corrected by using location information on each reference mark, where location information on each reference mark is located at the same position of the specified reference mark in the previous N data pages and comprises first information about the mean value of micromovement of all reference marks that are in the same location as the specified reference mark and second information about the standard deviation of micromovement of each reference mark in the previous N data pages.
