<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disconnection detector of passive optical network PON for clearly discriminating whether a trouble exists in an electrical system control or an optical fiber circuit. <P>SOLUTION: A disconnection detection technology of an optical fiber circuit which can be replicated and assembled inexpensively in larger quantities is formed by employing a 1550 nm optical fiber diffraction grating (Fiber Bragg Grating, FBG) as a main component and combining a 1550 nm optical band-pass filter, an optical circulator, a variable laser light source and a light wave power meter. Outdoor maintenance and inspection cost can be reduced sharply by judging whether disconnection exists in the user circuit of optical fiber or not and whether light loss in the circuit is excessive or not in a general machine room. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
