摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a quality of an RF signal regarding a technical field for detecting adjusting values of focus bias and spherical aberration in an optical pickup, a disk drive device and an adjusting method. <P>SOLUTION: The optical pickup is provided with: a focus servo mechanism 9 which controls an objective lens 8a to move in a focusing direction so as to focus the spot of a laser beam on the recording surface of a disk-like recording medium 100; a tracking servo mechanism 10 which controls the objective lens to move in a tracking direction so as to make the spot of the laser beam follow the recording track of the disk-like recording medium; and a spherical aberration correction mechanism 38 which varies the diameter of the laser beam to correct the spherical aberration. By driving the focus servo mechanism and driving the spherical aberration correction mechanism, a nearly maximum value of the amplitude of the RF signal is measured, and a focus bias value and a spherical aberration corrected value corresponding to the maximum value is detected as a reference value C. By driving the focus servo mechanism with the reference value about the spherical aberration corrected value fixed, a nearly maximum value of the amplitude of a push-pull signal is measured, and the reference value of the focus bias value and the spherical aberration corrected value corresponding to the maximum value is detected as an adjusted value E. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
