<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To exhibit an excellent power saving effect while preventing a configuration from being complicated for power saving control for each image processing section in an image processor including a plurality of image processing sections. <P>SOLUTION: In the case of a composite printer comprising a printer and an image scanner, for example, the power saving state of a circuit wherein power consumption is great, such as a motor or a motor driver in the printer is controlled in accordance with a use condition inherent to the printer (520), and the power saving state of a circuit wherein power consumption is great, such as a lamp, an image sensor, a motor or a motor driver in the scanner is controlled in accordance with a use condition inherent to the scanner (530).
