Pneumatic tyre for a vehicle, having a profiled tread with profile elements, such as ribs (1) or rows of blocks, which run around in the circumferential direction, on the shoulder-side edges of the tread which are provided on their axially outer edge sections with a plurality of sipes (4, 4') which run essentially parallel to one another, are oriented in the transverse direction of the tread and also penetrate the shoulder-side rib edges (1a) which run inclined at an angle (alpha) of 5° to 40° with respect to the radial direction. The sipe base (4a, 4'a) of the sipes (4, 4') follows curve which has, on the rib surface, a section (4b, 4'b) which runs parallel to or essentially parallel to the outer contour of the rib edge (1a) and which includes at its point where it runs out at the rib edge (1a) with the radial direction an angle (beta, beta') is up to 45° greater than the angle (alpha) of the rib edge (1a). |
