A thermal printer control system with protection apparatus is provided to improve the durability and stability of the thermal printer by deactivating thermal head unit and step motor unit by cutting electric power when the controller is stopped the operation. A thermal printer control system equipped with a protective device includes a watchdog timer(152), a first circuit unit(130) and a second circuit unit(140). The first circuit unit is connected to the watchdog timer and the second circuit unit. The first circuit unit receives a trigger signal outputted in the watchdog timer. The first circuit unit outputs the LOW signal in case of receiving the repetition trigger signal. The first circuit unit outputs the HIGH signal in case of receiving the single trigger signal. The second circuit unit is connected to a thermal printer(110) through the pull-down resistance(142) and pull-up resistance(144). The second circuit unit comprises a receiver receiving the outputted signal from the first circuit unit. The watchdog timer is installed at the central processing unit(150).
