This invention pertains in general to the field of designing polynucleotide sequences. More particularly the invention relates e.g. to a method for designing probes for DNA microarray technology or primers for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The present invention according to some embodiments has the advantage over the prior art that it is based on experimental data, which allows for higher accuracy and better predictions regarding polynucleotide properties so that no experimental validation of the polynucleotide would be needed.
