<p>A bonded joint has a first component with a core 206 and external skins 208 which extend beyond the core 206 to provide a recess. The recess extends over a projecting flange 404 of a second component, and a bonding agent 406 is placed between recess and flange to bond the components together. The assembly may further feature apertures (502,fig.5) to allow ingress of the bonding agent, reinforcing panels (702,fig.7) or a further mechanical connection (602,fig.6). The first component may be an aircraft wing made of composite materials, and the second component may be part of the fuselage of an aircraft.</p> |
