A conversation camera system equipped in the audio unit of a vehicle and a control method thereof are provided to allow the driver to monitor the rear seat while driving by providing information about the rear seat using the camera unit and the display unit. A conversation camera system equipped in the audio unit of a vehicle comprises a camera unit(101), a display unit(102), a storage unit(103), an output unit(104), and a control unit(105). The camera unit is installed at on a roof headlining or roof console. The display unit receives an image signal from the camera unit and indicates the image information. The storage unit stores the image information displayed on the screen of the display unit. The output unit outputs the image information stored in the storage unit. The control unit controls the camera unit, the display unit, the storage unit, and the output unit. The display unit, the storage unit, the output unit and the control unit are installed on an audio unit(300) of the vehicle. The image information comprises photo and moving picture.
