Pruning shears or corresponding cutters comprising a first elongated handle part (1), a first blade part (5) arranged as an extension of the first handle part (1), a second blade part (6) pivoted to the first blade part (5) from a first pivot point (7), and a second elongated handle part (2) pivoted at its first end (8) to the second blade part (6) from a second pivot point (10). The second elongated handle part (2) is connected to the first elongated handle part (1) with at least one shaft (11) pivotally connected to both the first and second elongated handle parts. The first and second elongated handle parts (1, 2) are arranged in the open position of the shears to remain along their entire length at a distance from each other enabling the use of the shears with one hand along the entire length of the handle parts.
