Provided is a method of partially renovating the shell plates of towers and vessels, wherein the shell plates of towers and vessels can be renovated partially in a short construction period at low construction costs. The method of partially renovating the shell plates of towers and vessels renovates the tubular shell plate portion (2) at a part of the shell plate (1) of a main distillation tower, wherein two facing parts located in the circumferential direction of the tubular shell plate portion (2) to be renovated are cut off partially and removed, and a new split plate (3) is fixed to each opening (6) thus formed by the removing. The cutting/removing is repeated, and thus the tubular shell plate portion (2) is renovated. The new split plate (3) is obtained by splitting the tubular shell plate portion (2) equally into a plurality of sections in the circumferential direction.
