This invention involves a process for the preparation of haloalkylalkoxysilanes and haloalkylhalosilancs. The process comprises reacting an alkoxyhydridosilane or a halohydridosilanc silane with an alkenylhalide compound in the presence of a catalytic amount of an iridium containing catalyst.
