It is made possible during broadcasting of a program to check out whether the channel being used in broadcasting suffers interference. Out of the carrier waves which constitute the channel being used, the carrier waves having predetermined frequency bands are erased, and the program is broadcast using the channel with the carrier waves having predetermined frequency bands erased. Then, the program being broadcast is received, and the amplitude level of the erased carrier waves having predetermined frequency bands is measured. When the measured amplitude level is less than the threshold value set in advance, it is determined that the channel being used suffers no interference. When the channel being used is judged suffering interference, another one channel is selected out of all the channels usable for broadcasting and the channel is switched over to that one and broadcasting of the program is continued.
