The invention relates to preparations for protecting timber against biodegradation and fire and can be used in the wood working industry. The aim of the invention is to produce a composition which exhibits high safety properties, simplifies the process of the production thereof and makes it possible to impregnate initially high-moisture wood. The inventive protective composition containing carbamide and water, also contains sodium phosphate, borax and a die with the following component ratio, in mass%: 18-34 carbamide, 14-27 sodium phosphate. 3-6 borax, 0.02-0.03 die, the rest being water.
