The device has a case (2) closed by a dial (12) provided with marks i.e. scales, and a lighting unit arranged in the case for diffusing light towards the dial. A pointing element i.e. indication needle (20), is movably mounted with respect to the dial. The marks are defined by zones of the dial having less contrast colors and a distinct light transmission ratio such that the zones show the marks, when the lighting unit is activated, and the zones are merged, when the lighting unit is inactivated.
