<p>This invention relates to a pointing device. The pointing device disclosed in the invention is characterized by comprising: a curved support unit which has a curved surface; a pointing unit that is placed at an upper portion of the curved support unit and slides along the curved surface of the curved support unit; and a sensor unit that senses the motion of the pointing unit. The pointing unit is designed to enable a mouse pointer to move on a monitor screen depending on the extent of sliding of the pointing unit along the curved surface of the support unit. Therefore, the pointing device can be confined to limited space such as in a mobile device or a notebook computer which require a thin profile. In addition, a user is able to do precise work with the pointing device since the pointing device is able to move along a curved surface.</p> |
