<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct transmission timing in accordance with a transmission timing signal without destroying transmission data with respect to a frame length variable transmission frame, regarding a frame length variable transmitter and a transmission timing correction processing method. <P>SOLUTION: Each time a reference timing signal is input, only one of '0' side and '1' side is brought into an enable state alternately by an enable signal generation section 21 that alternately outputs '0' and '1', and a pattern comparison section 24 compares cyclic prefixes to determine whether it is a frame header or not. A phase difference between reference timing and transmission timing is detected by a phase difference detection section 28 and in accordance with a signal indicating presence of phase variation in transmission timing, based on a comparison result of the pattern comparison section 24, a switching control section 26 allows a selector 30 to select a timing signal, delayed by a half frame, from a timing generation section 29.
