PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device in which a main elastic layer is less likely to be deteriorated even when both ends of the roller shaft of a fixing roller are induction-heated. SOLUTION: The fixing device includes: the fixing roller 150 that has an induction heat generation layer 154, via a main elastic layer 153, on the metal roller shaft 151 except both its ends 151a and 151b; and an induction coil unit 170 disposed on the outside of the induction heat generation layer 154 and almost parallel to the roller shaft 151 and used for induction heating of the induction heat generation layer 154.
