PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image photographing system capable of correcting an afterimage with high precision. SOLUTION: The radiation image photographing system is equipped with an afterimage correction part for correcting an afterimage with respect to the data of a next radiation image on the basis of the data of the afterimage of the previous radiation image. In the afterimage correction part, the afterimage is averagely contracted to a plurality of regions to determine a difference position where the difference in the main direction and sub-direction between the regions exceeds a threshold value, the next radiation image is averagely contracted to a plurality of the same regions as the afterimage to determine level-difference quantities at respective difference positions of the next radiation image and the afterimage, the correction factors of the respective difference positions are determined from the ratio of the level-difference quantities of both of them, the average or median value of the correction factors of the respective difference positions is set to a correction factor for correcting the afterimage, and the data obtained by multiplying the data of the afterimage by the correction factor for correcting the afterimage is substrated from the data of the next radiation image to correct the afterimage with respect to the radiation image.
